Ascend Education and Ascend Math are compliant with COPPA, FERPA, SOPIPA and similar state privacy acts.
Ascend Education does not require use of personally identifiable student information such as social security numbers, birthdates, or home addresses. Ascend Education asks that schools and school districts not share any identifying student information other than a student's name and grade level either directly, or through Ascend Math.
Our learning services for children are provided by subscription to schools, school districts, and other educational entities. Ascend Math's services are not available to children under age 18 except when they are enrolled for access as an authorized user by a teacher or other school administrator who has been authorized to do so by the child's parent or guardian. Ascend Education allows parent access to student data via their student login. Should a parent or guardian desire to update any information, we direct the parent or guardian to notify the school, teacher or educational entity of such changes.
We do not provide any personally identifiable information about children, regardless of its source to any third party.
As part of the registration process, users are assigned a login name and an anonymous password. Ascend Math will use the login name and password to identify the user on all subsequent visits to Ascend Math. It is the user's responsibility to keep his or her password confidential.
We do track certain information, such as courseware and site usage. These data are used to analyze trends for internal statistical purposes only. No personal information is stored or used in any way as a result of this tracking, nor is this information disseminated to any third parties. We do not retain student personal information for longer than necessary to deliver services for school purposes.
